Configure instant SMS to respondents and admin notifications — templates, merge tags, Sender IDs, and troubleshooting.
The highest-value moment in lead capture is the ten seconds after someone submits. Smart Forms SMS automation sends a confirmation text immediately — before they close the tab, before they forget your brand, before a competitor replies first.
Two automation types
Respondent SMS — sent to the phone number on the form. Use this for thank-you messages, booking confirmations, reference numbers, and next-step instructions. Admin SMS — sent to your team's phone when a new response arrives. Use this for hot leads, support tickets, and event registrations that need same-day follow-up.
Enable either or both from Dashboard → Smart Forms → [Your Form] → Automation. Each form has its own templates — your contact form and event registration can send different messages.
Merge tags and templates
Personalize messages with field merge tags: {full_name}, {phone}, {email}, and any custom field key you defined in the builder. Example respondent template: Thanks {full_name}! We received your inquiry and will call you within 24 hours. — Acme Ltd.
Example admin template: New lead: {full_name} ({phone}). Source: contact form. Reply ASAP. Keep admin messages actionable — include the phone number and one clear next step.
Sender ID and wallet
SMS sends through your approved Sender ID so recipients see your brand name, not a random number. Register a Sender ID in Dashboard → Sender IDs before going live — Ghana carrier approval typically takes a few business days.

Save contacts for follow-up campaigns
Enable Save to contact group in form settings. Every submission with a valid phone number joins the group you choose — ready for bulk SMS campaigns, segmented promos, or re-engagement without re-importing CSVs.
Test with your own number before publishing. Submit the form, confirm delivery in message logs, and verify merge tags render correctly. Most setup issues are wrong phone format or missing Sender ID approval.
